We believe it is the obligation of the saved to witness, by life and by word, to the truths of Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the gospel to all mankind (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:19-20). To that end, we support the following missionaries in addition to seeking opportunities to witness in everyday life.
Michael and Keila Dawson Serving in Venezuela
Michael and Keila have played instrumental roles in the ministry to the Yanomamö people. Michael is an avid pilot. His vision and fortitude have been the launching pad for Mission Padamo Aviation and Support. In addition to his tireless work on the aviation program, Michael pours himself into men’s discipleship, Bible study and teaching, missionary trips to other villages to evangelize, train, and encourage Yanomamö leaders and believers, and base upkeep, leadership, and maintenance. As director of the Yanomamö school, Keila focuses much time and energy on training the Yanomamö teachers, creating materials for the school, and teaching the children in both Yanomamö and Spanish. Dan and Vangie Swenson Serving with Kingdom Air Corps
Dan is one of the longest standing summer volunteers with KAC, starting back in 2005. As the ministry grew, so did the need for more full-time staff. Dan and Vangie joined KAC year-round in the summer of 2020. Dan then transitioned from Director of Aircraft Maintenance to Director of Maintenance Education, the role he now holds. He teaches airplane maintenance to college students, interns, volunteers, and some pilot students. It is his greatest joy to train the next generation of missionary airplane mechanics.
Vangie is a stay-at-home mom responsible for homeschooling and nurturing their three children – MaryElla, Caleb, and Abby. Life is full and very rewarding. During the summers, she and the children seek to find ways to befriend and encourage the families of our pilot students, the summer volunteers, and staff buddies. The entire Swenson family is grateful for the incredible opportunity to encourage those headed to foreign mission fields, setting aside their own ambitions, comforts, and securities for the furtherance of the gospel. Ben and Becki Olson Serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship
Ben Olson serves as administrator for the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Alaska. He and his wife, Becki moved to Alaska in 2014 along with their five children. For ten years Ben taught Bible and Theology at Alaska Bible College, where he also served as Academic Dean. Ben and Becki’s family mission is training up the next generation of Church leaders in the Word of God.
Ben came to know Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of five and so understands the importance of reaching children with the Gospel at an early age. At the age of nine, Ben’s parents began to serve with CEF in Indiana. He grew up in the ministries of CEF, serving alongside his parents, and so is passionate about families serving the Lord together.
Now, Ben and Becki’s five children have all attended Christian Youth In Action and have served in some capacity with CEF, teaching 5-Day Clubs, Good News Clubs, and interning with CEF here in Alaska. Ben sees the importance of multi-generational ministry, passing the torch of the Gospel from generation to generation. Click here to read more about the Olson's ministry with CEF. Becki also serves on staff here at PBC as our Children's Ministry Director.
